Built in 1908 by Canton industrialist Henry S. Renkert, the home's ownership passed to Paul B. Belden in 1928. The museum occupies the building's first and second floors as well as the basement. The attic-ballroom is used for storage. The home was occupied by a Belden family member until 1976, then purchased by the city in 1979. The museum is home to displays maintained by groups representing baseball, basketball, football, fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball and fumbleball. Other exhibits represent tennis, men's and women's bowling, Canton Negro Old-timers, swimmers, wrestlers and conservation.
